Dupion silk (also spelled Douppioni, Dupioni, or Doupion) is a type of silk fabric known for its unique texture and elegant sheen. It’s made from two silkworms that spin their cocoons closely together, causing the silk threads to become naturally intertwined. This process creates irregular, slubby threads, which give dupion silk its signature crisp texture and subtle sheen.
